Just look for a PYFA banner in the firepit area. Bring your family and friends anytime during the day or meet up with others to do the corn maze beforehand (some of us are going around 2pm) or afterwords (the haunted maze starts at 7pm and goes to 11pm). Martin Luther King Day of Service

We’re starting the year out right with the Martin Luther King Day of Service here in our own community, organized by the Purdue Boilermaker Volunteer Network. We’re looking for 20 faculty members to volunteer at Food Finders, a local food pantry, to sort and organize food for a few hours on Monday, 19 January.

The day begins at 9:00 am with breakfast, followed by organized transportation to the location. We work our sorting and organizational magic from 10:00-12:00 at Food Finders before returning to campus for a free lunch from 12:30-2:00.

If you are interested in volunteering with PYFA for the Food Finders event, please email Sharon (ude.eudrup|wrs#ude.eudrup|wrs) ASAP with your name, campus address and PUID. Because the event (and transportation) is organized by Purdue, you must hold a faculty/staff/student position with a PUID to participate.

volunteering: 10am-12pm
lunch: 12:30-2:30pm

Where:

Dickens of a Christmas

PYFA's December event aims to add a little Christmas cheer to the end of the semester. Join us in downtown Lafayette for the 11th annual Dickens of a Christmas - with kids, spouses, partners, friends or visiting in-laws in tow.

We'll start with a noon lunch at Lafayette Brewing Company, an informal, family-friendly restaurant in the middle of downtown. The lunch menu includes appetizers, salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers (plus a kids' menu) - plenty of hearty food to combat the cold weather.

After lunch, grab a buddy to explore local shops, take in the festive scene and perhaps do a little Christmas shopping. There will be live performances by choirs and entertainers, roving carolers, a holiday Farmers’ Market, skating sessions at Riverside Rink (dare you!), artisans in costume demonstrating their craft, carriage rides (kids love 'em), and Dickens and Victorian street characters to complete the atmosphere.

When:
Saturday, 6 December 2008
12:00 - 6:00 pm

Where:
1st: Lafayette Brewing Company
622 Main Street
